PRINT & DIGITAL RESOURCES

We have a large nonfiction and fiction print collection for classroom and personal use. We can also assist teachers and students in accessing thousands of research & professional journals through the Alabama Virtual Library (AVL). By request, the librarian can also curate web/digital resources by topic to assist classes with guided research.

TECH EQUIPMENT
|
Individual or small group training sessions can be scheduled with the librarian during the school day on a variety of topics, such as Google Apps for Education, Alabama Virtual Library, and PowerSchool. Any problems with technology equipment should be reported electronically via Incident IQ.

TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION
|
The library media specialist is available for collaborative instructional planning and co-teaching to assist teachers with incorporating instructional technology and teaching research skills/processes.

COMMUNICATION
|
The librarian can help announce events on the school website, newsletter, calendar, Facebook page, & digital monitor in the lobby.

INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES
|
The library provides many services including lamination of classroom materials for faculty & staff. Please allow for 24-48 hours between drop off and pick up of materials. Student library assistants are also available to help with administrative tasks upon request.

MEETING AREAS
|
The library media center is equipped with twelve collaborative tables with twenty-four rolling chairs and five counter height tables with twenty rotating chairs to accomodate classes or groups up to about forty. It has a large Viewsonic Touch Panel with an attached Chromebox, document camera, and wireless keyboard/touchpad on a rolling cart as well as a mounted 70" television with HDMI hookup. The attached outdoor classroom consists of eight wooden picnic tables and two adirondack chairs under a concrete covered portico. Requests for use may be scheduled via email and will be noted on the library media center calendar.
